Can I use batteries or solar power?
All our fixed monitors can be powered by batteries or solar electricity, as long as the supply output from the source meets the power supply requirements for each monitor. There are many considerations such as; how long you require the monitor to run, the number of parameters being monitored and the method of data transmission, environmental conditions, and power controllers, to name a few. Whilst we don’t seel batteries or solar systems (our speciality is air quality monitors!), we can help you identify a monitor solution related to your application, get in touch.
How long does/do the sensor/s last?

Sensors may degrade even when unused and in storage. Regular calibration is recommended to ensure your sensor is performing to specification. How often do I need to calibrate?
As a general rule we recommend calibration is performed as follows:
- Upon initial installation
- After relocation
- After any repairs or service that might affect its calibration
- When there is a prolonged interruption in operation
- At a routine interval
The frequency of routine calibration is a trade-off between desired accuracy and economic factors. More frequent calibration gives greater confidence in the accuracy of the measurements, but it also results in higher-cost in terms of materials and labor. For simplicity, we recommend one of two calibration regimes.
Indicative Monitoring – We recommend an initial field calibration upon deployment followed by at least quarterly gas module calibrations with weekly data inspections to identify early evidence of sensor drift.
Compliance Monitoring – We recommend an initial field calibration upon commissioning followed by at least monthly gas module calibrations and daily data inspections. However, National, State or Federal compliance monitoring regulations may apply to the project and these should be consulted to ensure your intended calibration schedule fully complies.

How do I see the data?
Depending on your instrument there are many ways to view your data. With outdoor fixed monitors such as the AQY, Dust Sentry, AQS 1 and AQM 65 you can view your data online using any web browser, export the data in .csv format, or use our API. Our Series 500 handheld monitor uses a Windows-based application to download, view, and export your data.
